November 4, 2016 Texas Arbor Day

(Dallas - November4, 2016) Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Wilson, Haily Summerford from Audubon Texas and Celina Barajas Dallas Park Board led the way for the planting of 200 hardwood trees in celebration of Texas Arbor Day. Children from the Trinity Environmental Academy came for the morning and enthusiastically planted the wonderful variety of trees such as: pecan, black walnut, Mexican plum, bur oak, sumac, American beautyberry, persimmon, and others. The phrase of the day became, "trees are important to everything." Citizen Foresters and City staff taught the volunteers how to plant the trees and provided information about the Great Trinity Forest.

Stormwater Fee Structure Changed October 16, 2016

The City changed the way that stormwater fees are calculated October 1, 2016.  The new stormwater rate structure is based on the size of your lot. The fee calculations will be based on measured impervious area (hard surface area) for each property. The impervious area is measured from the most recent aerial photographs. Visit the City's new Web site to look up your proposed stormwater fee and the amount of impervious area on your property at www.WhereDoesItGo.com.

Remember, most customers will not see a significant change in their bills.
